HAIK KAZAZYAN (RUSSIA)
Laureate of the 3rd Prize and the award “For the Best Performance of a Russian Composer’s Piece”. (The Third Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition, 2005). Foundation Scholarship holder in 2005
Born in 1982 in Erevan. Entered Erevan musical school named after Sayat-Nova in 1989. In 1996, moved to Moscow and entered Moscow Gnesin Secondary Special Music School, class of professor, People’s Artist of USSR E.D. Grach. Graduated from Gnesin School with cum laude diploma and entered the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory (class of professor E.D. Grach).
Prizewinner of the following competitions:

2004 — International Competition of Violinists “Sion-Valais”, Switzerland (First Prize, three special prizes);

2002 — Twelfth International Competition named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (Fourth Prize, three special prizes: from “Kultura” TV broadcasting, Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, “New names” Foundation);

2001 — Twelfth Henryk Wieniawski International Competition, Poznan (Third Prize, special prize for the best performance of polonaise by Wieniawski);

2000 — All-Russian Competition “New names” (Grand-Prix in the composition of piano trio);

1999 — A.I. Yampolsky International Contest (Second Prize);

1997 — International Competition of Young Violinists in Kloster-Schonthal, Germany (Second Prize, special prize for the best performance of the virtuoso composition);

Active participant of many international festivals, among which are “Festival de musique” of S. Mintz (Switzerland, 2003), “Arts square” (Saint Petersburg, 2005), “Musical Kremlin” (Moscow, 2004), “Moscow autumn” (2002, 2004), “Youth academies of Russia” (Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Moscow, 2003, 2004), “Young stars of twenty first century” (Samara, 2000), “Primavera classica” (Moscow, 2005) and many others.
Successfully performed at such famous stages as “Carnegie hall (Grand hall named after Stern)” in New York, “Victoria hall” in Geneva, “Barbican hall” in London etc. Goes on tour abroad: USA, Japan, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Israel, Macedonia, Syria etc.
Made performances with many symphonic and chamber orchestras, among which are Scotland Royal Orchestra conducted by A. Lazarev, Irish National Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra conducted by V. Ziva, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Russia conducted by K. Orbelyan, Chamber Orchestra “Moskoviya” conducted by E.D. Grach and also with Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Far East symphonic orchesrtas.
During his studying in 2002-2003 Haik was awarded with scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation, since 2003-2004 he is a holder of scholarship of the Government of Russian Federation. Passed master classes of such outstanding musicians as S.Mintz, I.Gendel. Since 2002 a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic.
