Born in Taiwan, China (1972). Studied with Prof. M. Pressley, W. Schwede, studied at the tutelage of D. DeLay and N. Tanaka. Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Doctor of Musical Art (2004). Has performed extensively in the main concert Halls throughout the United States and Europe with orchestras and solo, gave TV solo performance in Taiwan, made a number of recordings. As a violin pedagogue has been head of strings department at New York Conservatory of Music and violin professor at New York (1994), Washington (since 2002) and Greensboro. Recipient of the Epstein Young Artist Career Grant, grant from the Bagby Foundation for the Musical Arts, Inc., and two Regional Artists Grants. Played in masterclasses with Z. Bron, J. Swensen, S. Chase, J. Fadial, B. Kuschnir, Cho-Liang Lin, R. Lipsett, and Ian Swensen.

The recipient of numerous awards and prizes has won first prize in the:

  • Hollaender Opera and Concert Management Young Concert Artists International Auditions of Vienna, Austria (1994 – 1995).
  • Senior Young Artists Competition in Portland, Oregon.
  • The Plainfield Young Artist Music Competition, New Jersey.
  • The Seattle Young Artist Music Competition, Washington.
  • The Broadway Symphony Young Artist Music Competition in Seattle, Washington.
  • The Simon-Fiset Young Artist Music Competition in Seattle, Washington.
  • The University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Music Concerto Competition (1998).
