Tatiana Grindenko

TATIANA GRINDENKO

People's Artist of Russia (2002). Holder of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2003).

Started learning to play the violin at the age of six in Kharkov, Ukraine. Continued her studies in St. Petersburg and at the Central Music School in Moscow. Graduated from the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Laureate of numerous international competitions.

In 1976 became a member of the rock group "Boomerang", and then became a member of roch group “Forpost”. In 1982 founded "The Academy of Ancient Music", the first baroque ensemble in the former USSR with authentic performance manner playing original instruments. Ensemble succesfully participated in International festivals of old music woldwide. Worked together with Gidon Kremer.

Today Tatiana Grindenko continues to perform as a soloist with the world's leading orchestras Ms. Grindenko has performed together with many famous musicians: V. Ashkenasy, V. Afanassiev, Y. Bashmet, F. Bruggen, G. Causse, V. Fedoseev, H. Holliger, A. Ivashkin, A. Knjazev, K. Kondrashin, G. Kremer, A. Lubimov, K. Masur, A. Meneses, B. Pergamenshikov, V. Polyansky, M. Rostrapovich, G. Rozhdestvensky, A. Staier, Y. Temirkanov, K. Zanderling and others. Mrs. Grindenko is a Music Director of opera and theatrical projects, multimedia performances.

In 1999 Mrs. Grindenko formed the "OPUS-POST." ensemble especially to realise the project "The New Sacred Space" based on a concept of the composer Vladimir Martynov. Together with leading video-art designers and poets, "OPUS-POST." collaborates in multimedia projects, such as "Night in Galicia" (music - V. Martynov), “Apocalipse” (music – V. Martynov, Producer – J. Lubimov) "There Will Not Be a Winter Here…" (in collaboration with rock group "Auction") and so on. In 2000-2005 "OPUS-POST." ensemble released a number of CDs.

Tatiana Grindenko has made many recordings for radio and television and has released CDs by Chandos, Deutsche Grammophon, ECM, Erdenklang Musikverlag & CCn'C RECORDS, Eurodisk, Melodiya, Ondine, RCA, Wergo recording companies.
