The Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition is organized by the Violin Art Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the Administration of the City of Moscow and Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. The Competition is held in commemoration of Niccolò Paganini, one of the greatest violinists and composers.

Greetings:

Alexander Sokolov,
Minister of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation

From the very moment of its birth, the Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition has become an integral part of the most prominent cultural events held in Russia’s capital.

The support of talented young musicians, as well as the encouragement of gifted violinists and the worldwide promotion of the violin art, are the original features of the Competition that are necessary to preserve this long-term tradition.

I am sure that the Third Paganini Moscow International Competition will become another deserving contribution to the continuous historical development of the violin art and will be remembered for long by all who appreciate genuine music culture.

Alexander Sokolov,
Minister of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation

Yuri Luzhkov,
Mayor of Moscow

We are proud that our city, being one of the world largest cultural centers, has become the place of holding the Third Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition, which is the most important yearly event in the world of violin art. It is Moscow that is going to be in the focus of both Russian and foreign music public’s attention on December 1, 2005.

I would like to express my sincere wishes to all the participants in their honest competition, as well as the wishes of further success to the organizers of the event: it is them whose enthusiastic efforts create the friendly atmosphere pleasing both the ‘gourmets’ and all grateful listeners.

Yuri Luzhkov,
Mayor of Moscow

Maxim Viktorov,
Chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees

I am glad to feel that the Third Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition is becoming a long-expected event. Some people are waiting for it with excitement; some foretaste their pleasure to touch the violin art mysteries; but anyway, this is a special state producing a unique atmosphere of creativity, art and beauty.

Maxim Viktorov,
Chairman of the Violin Art Foundation’s Board of Trustees

Sergey Stadler,

Niccol? Paganini is the symbol of the violin art, embodying the unattainable mastery of performance. Hopefully, the Competition named after that great artist will draw all world lovers of the violin to Russia’s capital and will help young violinists to improve their performing skills.

I wish success, strength, inspiration and the gladness of creative work to all of you!

Sergey Stadler,
Chairman of the Third Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition’s Jury
