The First Competition – 2003

ROUND ONE (Eliminatory)

  • J. S. Bach: Two parts or the Chaconne from 6 sonatas and partitas for solo violin (at the participant’s option).
  • N. Paganini: Two caprices from Op. No. 1 (at the participant’s option).

ROUND TWO (Semifinal)
(Total duration: not exceeding 60 minutes)

  • W.A. Mozart, J. Haydn, L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert: One of sonatas (at the participant’s option).
  • N. Paganini: Any virtuoso composition (other than caprices performed in Round One) at the participant’s option.
  • One or several compositions at the participant’s option.

ROUND THREE (Final)

  • Any concerto for violin and orchestra at the participant’s option.
