Having participated in the intensive creative work of the First Competition’s jury as its member, I am confident that the success and attention of the audience, judges of music and mass media it received during its first year, will only grow.

I wish your young undertaking further prosperity, hoping to see its laureates and participants among the world elite of the violin art in the future.

Yuri Luzhkov,
Mayor of Moscow

It is already for a long time that Moscow, one of the world largest cultural capitals, has needed such a musical competition. It has become our only and exclusively violin contest, with a brightly expressed social emphasis as well. Therefore, the Government of Moscow gave its warm encouragement even to the very idea of holding the competition in Moscow.

The fact that the competition develops intensively and definitely has a great potential with long-term perspectives, is very positive. I sincerely wish success to all competitors and the competition organizers.

Yuri Luzhkov,
Mayor of Moscow

Maxim Viktorov,

The Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition is not just a musical contest, nor is it just a concert event. Intending this project, our goal was to introduce a new cultural event in Russia directing itself to the highest standards of the world culture traditions.

I am sure that the idea and the spirit of the competition will attract gifted performers, whose talent and labor can both enrich the treasure-house of the world culture and to draw genuine connoisseures of music together every year.

Maxim Viktorov,

Sergey Stadler,
Chairman of the Second Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition's Jury

Mankind’s memory has for ever related the violin with Paganini. Being the symbol of the violin art, the great Italian virtuoso’s name was given to the new competition in Moscow, one of the world capitals of music. I would like very much that this event become a genuine violin festival and help young musicians to find their way of comprehending the supreme and sublime mastery of the violin both in our vast Russia and worldwide.

I wish inspiration, the gladness of your creative work and further achievements to all of you.

Sergey Stadler,
Chairman of the Second Paganini Moscow International Violin Competition’s Jury
